Testimonials
Dear Friends at New Horizons:
On behalf of our entire family, I want to thank Marcie and the Corvallis caregivers for the wonderful care they gave our mother during her last days. We would especially like to commend Andrea (Andy), Cloe, Keira, Mary Ann, and Sheri for the patience and kindness they showed Mom as they carried out their responsibilities so competently. They were also great in working with the family as we all began gathering and hanging around near the end. They were always there to take care of Mom’s needs, but not in a way that intruded on the family. In fact, they fit with the crew quite naturally. They not only took care of Mom well; they also supported the family well. So again, thank you all. You helped make a sad and painful situation bearable.
Dear Dan,
This letter is written to commend your agency and our wonderful caregivers, Betty, Tammra, Shelly, and Michele.
Twenty-two months ago we involved your agency in the daily care of my mother Lillian, who suffered from long-term Parkinson’s Disease. After ‘trying out’ several caregivers provided by your schedulers, New Horizons put together a wonderful team of committed women who took on the task of doing everything for Mom and also looking after my 86-year-old father John.
As the daughter ‘in charge’ of supervising my parents’ care and also as a professional medical social worker, I have been very impressed with your scheduling staff and with the quality of your caregivers. Although my father was initially resistive to having caregivers at all, he came to appreciate their expertise in caring for Mom, who had a debilitating illness.
Tammra was our weekday caregiver; her cheerful personality always brought a smile to Mom’s face. She made Mom feel special, helping maintain her dignity by putting on her makeup, dressing her in attractive outfits and styling her hair. This was a very important aspect of caring for Mom as she was always an elegant, dignified woman.
Betty, our evening caregiver was completely reliable; she never missed a day of work. I felt most confident when she was with my parents and knew that their needs would be competently taken care of. She would joke with Dad, bringing some much-needed lightheartedness into the household. She was especially tender during the last days of Mom’s life and always lotioned up her skin and massaged her stiff hands. She also did ironing for my parents, which very few people do these days. She responded within five minutes when there was a last-minute caregiver cancellation and we needed a replacement immediately.
Our weekend caregiver, Shelly and Michelle, were attentive to both my parents and looked for helpful things to do in the household when Mom was napping. Both of them kept the house organized and picked up, and they accompanied me in taking my parents out in their wheelchairs. They were gentle with Mom and respected my parents’ privacy with their quiet presence.
At the end of my Mom’s life her physical care needs became more demanding and unpleasant to perform, but all our caregivers treated her with respect, dignity, and tenderness.
Zoe and Tivoli in scheduling and nurse supervisors Bethany and Tina were attentive and responsive when my mom’s care needs changed or if I had any concerns that needed to be addressed.
I have written personal notes to our caregivers but wanted you to know directly of our experience. I hope you will take time to commend these wonderful ‘angels’ who were with us during a very difficult time.
Thank you.
Words can’t express how grateful we are for everything you did for Sue & Dan to make their final days more comfortable.
Thank you.
New Horizons Staff,
My family wanted to write & tell you what loving, caring, and excellent care our mom received from her care takers Alanna, Sara, and Lori. We’re so appreciated them and their support & care of our family. They all went above and beyond & we want to be sure you know how valuable they are as employees of your company, and how much they will be missed by our family.
To the New Horizons Staff:
We want to thank you so much for helping our father. Your skills, attention and, most of all, your gentle are were welcome and much needed in his last days. Also, thank you for your kindness to us as we visited and phoned. Again, many thanks to all who attended Dad.
The Best Possible Care
I want to thank Paula, Bette and Jennifer for providing the best possible care for mom in the past few years. Thank you for working with us, providing guidance and positive feedback during trying times.
Wonderful Care
We would like to thank New Horizons for the wonderful care that you provided for our mother. We felt comfortable with her being in your care and know that you provided the best possible services.
I want to thank you…
I want to thank you for the care provided to mom in the later part of her life. Barbara was stellar throughout the time and mom loved her. Deb, while she was here, was next to mom’s heart. I was very pleased with Patty, Leah and Victoria at the end. When mom died Patty was in attendance and could not have been more helpful – she was wonderful!
Outstanding Caregivers
Hope, Melissa, Cassi, and Christina were all four outstanding caregivers! Hope is wonderfully knowledgeable and caring – delightful personality! Melissa is always extremely attentive, rarely leaving Mom’s side during the night. Her comfort skills are top-notch, and she is so loving! Cassi formed a special bond with Mom and when Mom was barely communicating, Mom reached out twice, one to hug Cassi and another time to kiss her hand. Christina was so gentle and attentive to Mom over many nights, giving us comfort that Mom was in great hands.
